Arizona is a state located in the southwestern region of the United States. It is best known for being the home to the Grand Canyon—one of the world’s seven natural wonders.
The state of Arizona became the 48th U.S. state on February 14, 1912. It has a population of 7,151,502, according to the census estimates of 2020.
Arizona’a capital and most populous city is Phoenix; Tucson, Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert are among other major cities. The state is divided into 15 counties, the main ones are Maricopa County, Pima County, Yavapai County, Mohave County, and Yuma County.
Birth and death records from 1909 onwards are kept by the Bureau of Vital Records, a division of the Arizona Department of Health Services. The office also has abstracts of records that were filed before this time.
