State Office

The Arkansas Department of Health's Office is the central office for the state of Arkansas and it issues certified copies of Arkansas birth certificates, Arkansas death certificates and Arkansas marriage records for events that occurred in Arkansas. You may order copies of Arkansas vital records through this office or, in some cases, the office of the county clerk where the deed happened.

Arkansas is a state located in the south-central region of the United States. It is bordered by Missouri to the north, Tennessee and Mississippi to the east, Louisiana to the south, and Texas and Oklahoma to the west. It was admitted to the Union as a state on June 15, 1836.

Arkansas covers an area of 53,179 square miles (137,732 km2) and has a population of 3,011,524 as of 2020. Its largest counties are Pulaski County, Benton County, Washington County, Sebastian County, and Saline County. The state's capital and most populous city is Little Rock, located in the ventral part of Arkansas.

Vital records are kept at Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) which has records since February 1914. It also holds some original Little Rock and Fort Smith records from 1881 to 1915.
