Arkansas is a state located in the south-central region of the United States. It is bordered by Missouri to the north, Tennessee and Mississippi to the east, Louisiana to the south, and Texas and Oklahoma to the west. It was admitted to the Union as a state on June 15, 1836.

The state's capital and most populous city is Little Rock, located in the ventral part of Arkansas.
