Georgia State Information

Georgia is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. It was one of the original thirteen colonies, and it became the fourth state on January 2, 1788. Georgia has a population of 10,711,908 people, based on 2020 data. This makes it the 8th most populous state in the U.S.

The main counties are Fulton County, Gwinnett County, Cobb County, DeKalb County, Chatham County and Columbia County. The state’s capital and largest city is Atlanta, which contains about 57% of Georgia's entire population. Other notable cities are Atlanta, Columbus, Augusta, Savannah, and Macon.
