State Office

The Hawaii State Department of Health's Office is the central office for the state of Hawaii and it issues certified copies of Honolulu birth certificates, Honolulu death certificates and Honolulu marriage records for events that occurred in Honolulu. You may order copies of Hawaii vital records through this office or, in some cases, the office of the county clerk where the deed happened.

About Hawaii State Department of Health

The State of Hawaii was the last state to join the union, on August 21, 1959. It is part of the western region, and located in the Pacific Ocean about 2,000 miles (3,200 kilometers) from the U.S. mainland. It is the only state in the U.S. that is located outside of North America.

Hawaii is the 8th smallest state by land area. With a population of 1,455,271, it is also the 11th least-populous.  

The capital and largest city is Honolulu, which also serves as the seat of government for Hawaii County.

The Office of Health Status Monitoring in Honolulu holds records for the state of Hawaii, in the Vital Records Section. The office has birth, death, marriage, and divorce records since January 1919.
