State Office

The Oklahoma Vital Records Office's Office is the central office for the state of Oklahoma and it issues certified copies of Oklahoma birth certificates, Oklahoma death certificates and Oklahoma marriage records for events that occurred in Oklahoma. You may order copies of Oklahoma vital records through this office or, in some cases, the office of the county clerk where the deed happened.

Oklahoma officially became a state on November 16, 1907, making it the 46th state in the union. It is located in the South Central region of the United States, and lies in the Great Plains, Cross Timbers, and the U.S. Interior Highlands.

The State of Oklahoma has a last recorded population of 3,959,353. Oklahoma City is the most populated, located in Oklahoma County. It is also the state’s capital and largest city. Other notable cities are Tulsa, Norman, and Broken Arrow. Important counties include Tulsa County, Cleveland County, Canadian County, and Comanche County.

The Vital Records Service at the Oklahoma State Department of Health issues and stores vital records for Oklahoma. Birth and death records date back to October 1908. For marriage and divorce certificates, please contact the county that issued the original document.
